BVTLive is Philadelphia’s premier entertainment agency for one reason: Kurt Titchenell and his devotion towards helping partygoers have fun through the gift of music! Kurt began studying music early on in life, leading him to pick up the trombone at age 15. Kurt has studied at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia and continued his studies at West Chester University where he received his degree.
In 1980, while attending West Chester University, Kurt co-founded the band Jellyroll. He performed in the band for 40 years and continues as the band leader to this day. As the leader of Jellyroll, the group has experienced tremendous success and has grown into one of the most sought-after bands on the east coast. Jellyroll’s defining moment may have been what many consider to be the ultimate honor that can be bestowed upon any entertainer: An invitation to perform at The White House. Jellyroll was invited by President Bush and First Lady, Laura Bush, to perform at the 2007 Congressional Ball. Acknowledged as a top Philadelphia band by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jellyroll has also received “Best Of Philly” (Philadelphia Magazine), “Best Of Delaware” (Delaware Today), and “Best Of The Main Line” (Main Line Today) Awards. Most recently, Jellyroll was awarded the honor of being selected as one of the top 75 bands in the country by Modern Bride Magazine.
In 1999, Kurt founded Brandywine Valley Talent, now BVTLive, which has become one of the area’s leading dance bands and full service, live music talent agencies. BVTLive acts will perform at over 1,000 events this year. Kurt’s dedication to his profession is evident in every aspect of his professional life. As President of BVTLive, Kurt is committed to making your event a success!
