Shavin Duffy was born and raised in West Chester, PA. He has performed professionally as a bassist and vocalist for more than 25 years. As the bandleader of Midnight Hour, Shavin is very proud to be joined by some of the areas most talented musicians and singers, in what is one of Philadelphia’s most exciting and versatile dance bands.

After studying music at West Chester University, Shavin went on to perform with a wide variety of well-known local and national acts. Among his most memorable experiences as a musician, Shavin toured the U.S. as a member of one of the most renowned bands of the 1980’s, Grammy Award winners “A Flock of Seagulls”, enjoying the success of their Top Ten single, “I Ran (So Far Away)”.

In 1991, Shavin brought Midnight Hour together, and the band has been going strong ever since. Over more than fifteen years, Midnight Hour’s repertoire of music has grown to span virtually all ages, eras, and genres of popular music. Shavin is also proud that Midnight Hour is represented exclusively by BVTLive! (since 2003), as this satisfied another of his many long-term goals for the band.

Shavin works personally with each of Midnight Hour’s clients in advance of their special event to learn about their unique tastes in music, be it a wedding reception or another type of affair. He then works with his band to plan a unique approach for each event, so that Midnight Hour can exceed the expectations of each and every client with tailor-made performances and dazzling music.

In addition to their years of success in the wedding and private party markets, Shavin and the band are also proud to perform in support of many worthy foundations and causes each year, including the Autism Society of America, the Cancer Center of Chester County, and the annual “City of Hope” event in Philadelphia which benefits breast cancer research.

Shavin now lives once again in West Chester, PA, where he and his wife, Wendy, are raising their three children. He places his family above all else, but his passion is Midnight Hour – a passion he shares with each of the talented members of his band and sound crew.
