The Big Ric Rising Band leader, Ricardo “Big Ric” Minter has been performing for over 20 years. He was born and raised in Philadelphia where he even attended the same school, West Catholic High School, as Kurt Titchenell – Jellyroll band leader and BVTLive! founder and President. Ric went on to FLC (Franklin Learning Center) where he spent a year diving into his Arts and Humanity classes, nourishing his love for music. From then on Ric started playing at local restaurants in several different acts, always remembered by his audiences for his strong voice, charismatic personality, and his entertaining performances. The first inception of Big Ric Rising was in Big Ric and the Roller’s, which Ric later strayed from as he got into the wedding industry and formed the well known Big Ric Rising band.

Big Ric has always been a showstopper. He always knew that music was his calling. One of the major influences that eventually helped Ric become a bandleader was watching both of his parents perform in their church choir. Coming from a blue-collar family and being a professional union roofer, music slowly took over Ric’s life and became more than a hobby or a side job. He absolutely loves performing and brings high energy and fun to every event. Every member of Big Ric Rising is vital to the great entertainment you receive. In fact, band members Trineice and Bert have been alongside Ric for over 18 years. You never have to worry whether Ric will miss an event; he’s performed no matter what the case – even in a full leg cast, sling, and a wheelchair! He prides himself on bringing fun to the stage and being able to elevate an audience with his band.

Not only is he the emcee and lead singer of Big Ric Rising, he is also the Big Ric Rising’s bandleader, and works directly with clients to ensure a perfect event.
