Jason Herrmann is a Philadelphia guitarist, composer, and educator with over 20 years of experience working as a professional musician. No matter what you’re looking for, whether it be classic rock, jazz, classical, party music, or brain melting shredding guitar solos, he has you covered.

Like many young guitarists, Jason was drawn to the sounds of hard rock and heavy metal at a young age. But when it came time to go to college, he decided that Jazz was his calling and attended Temple University. While earning his degree he studied with Ed Flanagan, Craig Ebner, Ben Schachter, and Grammy award winning composer & pianist Bill Cunliffe.

After graduating, Jason dove headfirst into the local music scene. Over the span of roughly 20 years, he has been a part of numerous cover bands of varying genres such as: Browntown (Funk), The Brian Bortnick Band (Classic Rock), Remixtd (Hip Hop, Dance), to name a few. He has also been a part of numerous original bands of equally disparate genres.

More recently, Jason went back to Temple University where he earned his master’s degree in jazz studies. This allowed him to further his career as an educator and work as an Adjunct Professor at various colleges in and around Philadelphia.

Today, Jason divides his time among several original and covers-based bands. He is the guitarist and music coordinator for Elevation, one of the hottest and most in demand wedding bands in the area.

He also leads his jazz/funk/fusion instrumental band JJIM, who specialize in playing well known songs and reimagining them in fun and funky ways. He is also a member of the Tap Room Trio, an original jazz group led by organist Dave Mattock. When not performing with these acts, Jason can be found freelancing or working as a sideman for numerous other groups.
