For years, BVTLive! has had the pleasure of working alongside Tim Sudall of Allure Films at many weddings and social events. Having the privilege to work with someone as passionate about filmmaking as Tim has been a real treat. We wanted to share his expertise and knowledge with our clients. Read on for some insight into our friend, Tim Sudall, and the benefits of choosing a professional to film one of the most important days of your life—your wedding day!
Tim fell in love with filmmaking at a young age. Fascinated by films as he learned more about this medium in high school, Tim knew he had to delve farther into the filmmaking industry. He did just that. Tim has been a filmmaker for over 20 years and simply loves what he does and it shows in his work! Tim shared in his interview that the most rewarding part of his job is being able to enjoy and share in the best day of someone’s life every weekend. “When we are finished we give clients one of the most wonderful wedding gifts of all, a rewind button.”
Serving the Clients
Providing that rewind button for clients is easily attained for Tim. By meeting with clients far in advance to understand family dynamics and their wishes for the film, it allows for a smooth filming process. Tim focuses on capturing signature physical moments at weddings and social events alike. There are always those individual special moments that are captured differently in every wedding—best man high five, ring bearer behind the scenes, and crying during the vows.
Many people tend to have the misperception that wedding films involve bright lights, microphones, and backdrops throughout the day. However, with the documentary approach that Tim takes, he is able to capture the event in a discrete manner without drawing attention to himself.
Film Appeal
Brides and grooms miss out on having that rewind button to share and enjoy for years to come when they do not book a professional filmmaker. A photograph of the most impressive best man’s speech or a cell phone quality video does not compare to a professional’s eye for the right angle, sound quality, and knack for a collaborative video from start to finish.
Once the wedding has come to an end, Tim begins creating and customizing his film for his client. He has films completed in approximately 8 weeks and works with 5 editors to create a memorable film for each client. Tim provides his clients with three separate films; a 5 minute, 15 minute, and 90 minute film.
Working with Live Entertainment
BVTLive! has worked with Tim for many years, and to this day it’s amazing to work with such a great person who feels like family. The live entertainment adds a unique element to Tim’s films. Tim shares, “People are on the dance floor all night thanks to BVTLive! and their awesome band leaders. Every moment is maximized. Every minute is an experience.” Captured by film, Tim is able to bring small moments to life that otherwise may not be remembered.
