The Wedding of the Season: Christine & John
At BVTLive! we see a lot of weddings, and it’s true that they are all beautiful and filled with love, but every once in a while there is one that really stands out to us. On May 4, 2013 Christine and John started a new chapter in their lives together and Jellyroll, along with a few other industry professionals, were all there to witness, among Christine and John’s family and friends. I was able to sit down with Kurt Titchenell, owner of BVTLive! and bandleader of Jellyroll, and ask him about some of the things that made Christine and John’s wedding so special.
During the planning process, Joe Volpe, with the Cescaphe Event Group, suggested that they take a look at Jellyroll to provide the music. With a valued opinion of one of their trusted friends, Christine and John decided to come out to see Jellyroll perform. The first time they saw them was at the annual Flyers’ Wives Carnival at the Wells Fargo Center back in 2012. Christine and John were impressed with Jellyroll’s musicality, and decided to book them for their big day!
Their wedding took place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, an absolutely stunning church located on Main Street in historic Moorestown, NJ. After the ceremony, the couple had a Rolls-Royce Phantom II waiting for them outside the church doors to take them to the reception in style. Upon arrival to Christine’s beautiful home in Moorestown, where the cocktail hour and reception were both held, guests were greeted by the sounds of a BVTLive! harpist and violinist performing from the front porch. Guests were then escorted around the house to the backyard, where we had our string quartet playing on the balcony of the pool house, overlooking all of the guests mingling, and enjoying the couple’s signature cocktails and food, catered by the Cescaphe Event Group. Everyone was patiently awaiting Christine and John to join the party!
After the conclusion of the cocktail hour, guests were then directed through a beautiful walkway toward a large, elegantly decorated tent provided by Eventquip. The flowers, décor and lighting, provided by Beautiful Blooms and Eventions, gave the finishing touch to the setup and final details of the reception room. Then, time stood still as Christine and John arrived at the reception to the appropriately planned song Crazy in Love, and were announced as “the newly married Mr. and Mrs. John Palumbo”.
Jellyroll played “Can’t Take my Eyes Off of You” by Franki Valli and the Four Seasons as Christine and John shared their first dance as husband and wife. From then on, the reception was fully underway, and Jellyroll had guests dancing all night long. Some of the hottest songs were featured, such as Suit & Tie, Raise Your Glass, and We Found Love; as well as some older hits such as Don’t Stop til’ ya Get Enough, Living on a Prayer, and Don’t Stop Believin’.
DJ Johnny Looch provided music as well, playing songs such as Friends in Low Places, Chicken Fried, and closed his portion of the night with, Who Loves You. The professionals at Phil Kramer Photographers, Inc. were able to effortlessly capture countless unforgettable moments throughout the night, and cinEmotion4U – who we have to thank for the incredible wedding video! – was able to capture Christine getting up on stage with Jellyroll, and even John crowd surfing! It’s moments like these that Kurt describes as making all the hard work everyone puts into planning a wedding worth it.
BVTLive! and Jellyroll were honored to be a part of Christine and John’s big day, and we wish them a happy and healthy life together!
