The Sid Miller Dance Band’s Exciting Summer!

Wedding & Party Bands

To kick off the busy season, one of the best party bands in Philadelphia, The Sid Miller Dance Band, provided the main entertainment for a gala celebrating the lifetime achievements of the 7-time Grammy winner and incredible pianist/song writer, Burt Bacharach. Hosted by The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Burt Bacharach, and he graciously provided a four song mini-concert to begin the cocktail hour. Following, The Sid Miller Dance Band provided a quartet to finish cocktails, as well as a full band performance to close out the night. It was an incredible experience for The Sid Miller Dance Band on their road to one of their busiest summers yet!

Performing at nearly twenty events from June through August, the summer of 2013 held much more greatness for The Sid Miller Dance Band. Just in time for their busy wedding season, the band was able to bring on another extremely gifted vocalist, Khrista White. With a group of musicians as recognizable and talented as The Sid Miller Dance Band, it is not an easy task for a young vocalist to get a spot on stage so quickly. However, Khrista is a fresh face that helps light up the stage while the band finds that they are continually excelling. A recent graduate from the University of the Arts, Khrista is said by multiple professionals in the program to be one of the best vocalists to ever graduate from the university.

While an eventful summer is always important, the end of this wedding season is where The Sid Miller Dance Band played some of their favorite events. On September 7th, Sid and his crew took a trip to New York City to perform at Cipriani’s, one of the largest wedding venues in the city and a very prominent space for luxury weddings. The beauty of Cipriani’s architecture was captured that evening by Francesco Magtalia, a world renowned documentary photographer who also specializes in weddings. Also displaying her professional expertise was videographer Valerie Barnes, who had plenty of room to cover dealing with such a large reception area. With a capacity of 750 people, high ceilings, and refreshing décor, bandleader Sid Miller could not help but call this his favorite venue that he has ever played in. Arguably the most appealing factor of the décor was the floral arrangements provided by Belle Fleur located on 5th Ave in New York. With the place looking great and as any professional and his team would, The Sid Miller Dance Band performed amazingly on the brightest of stages. The bride – newly named Erin Farrell – had a bit to say about the performance:

Sid, I can’t thank you guys enough for an INCREDIBLE night. You were fantastic, start to finish, every single person, and I can’t tell you how many people have RAVED about how wonderful you were. Multiple people asked my mother for your info, so hopefully you will be back to NY for another wedding very soon! Hope you guys enjoyed it! You are amazing. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

As if performing at a luxurious wedding venue in the middle of New York City isn’t impressive enough, Sid and his group had another awesome gig lined up for the following week. On September 14th the Sid Miller Dance Band performed at another wedding with an exceptionally appealing venue, The Willard Hotel, located two blocks from the White House. The Willard has quite a history of its own, accommodating guests since before the civil war. While The Willard has over 330 guest rooms, a spa, and restaurant, the 600-person reception and banquet hall could be its greatest attraction! Similar to their New York wedding, The Sid Miller Dance Band entertained guests all evening for a night the happily married couple will never forget.
