Handling a Challenge

When it comes to a wedding, more goes into the planning than meets the eye, especially for the band. Whether it is challenges that arise during the reception or dealing with a “bridezilla,” BVTLive! has experienced it all. Kurt, band leader of Jellyroll and president of BVTLive!, shared his keys to successfully handling challenging situations.

According to Kurt, “One of the biggest challenges is making sure everyone is in the room at the right times. There’s nothing worse than having the bride leave the room when you’re getting ready to do a toast.” Because of this, Kurt says it takes a group effort to pull off a successful wedding. “You also have to work well with the matradee to make sure they know what is going to happen next. That is really the biggest challenge for me, making sure everything is coordinated and that all the professionals are on the same page.”

Dealing with “bridezillas” can be a challenging feat for anyone involved in the wedding planning process. Kurt, however, shared his personal way of managing these brides, “Gain their trust.” If a bride does not see the band prior to their wedding, they become nervous. BVTLive! avoids this set back by encouraging couples to see the bands at a public event prior to their wedding, as well as sending them the testimonial page of the website so they can read the reviews first hand.

Most importantly, BVTLive! does not leave anything to chance. “We take people through a planning process. We have systems in place here, not just for planning weddings but for running the actual business. The video on the front page of the website, that is what we want to get across, that this is more than just playing music, a lot goes into what we do here. We make people’s dreams come true.”  View the video here
