With all of the large events that BVTLive! had the pleasure of being a part of this summer, July ended up being one of the most exciting months. With multiple great events such as the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Best of Delaware, and the Best of the Main Line parties, our musicians were very busy. BVTLive! was proud to take part in all of these big events, and help raise awareness and funds for some great local causes.
Democratic National Convention (DNC)
As most of you know, the Democratic National Convention just took place in Philadelphia a few weeks ago. The events ran from July 25th to the 28th, and BVTLive! had the pleasure of providing all kinds of music for various events throughout the week, such as Jellyroll for the Volunteers Show, All About Me at the Google Party, and our very own, Billy Handy at another private function. If you didn’t get a chance to make it out to Philly for the DNC, here are some of the highlights.
DNC Volunteers Party
Of all the events that BVTLive! provided music for, one of the most exciting was Jellyroll performing at The DNC Volunteers Party on July 21st. This was a Pre-DNC Event at the Penn’s Landing Great Plaza, and took place on the Thursday before the official Convention began. This show was a special party for all of the volunteers involved with the DNC and gave them a chance to celebrate and party a bit before the upcoming busy week’s events began.
Kurt Titchenell, President of BVTLive! and Jellyroll band leader stated, “Jellyroll is always proud to represent Philadelphia to visitors, and this was extra special due to the high profile nature of the DNC event. It was also great to see Governor Rendell, and Mayor Jim Kenney.”
Google Party
With all the corporate parties happening throughout the week, All About Me had the pleasure of performing at the Google Corporate Party. The band had a blast playing for this special event, and everyone who attended had a great time. Check out this photo that All About Me took. Looks like a fun party!
Best of Delaware Party
On Thursday, July 21st, Back2Life had the pleasure of performing at the Best of Delaware party. This event is one of the most popular events in Delaware, and celebrates excellence while raising funds for great, local causes. This year’s event took place at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware. The party celebrated all those who had received the “Best of Delaware” Award by sharing food, drinks, and live music with lots of dancing. Back2Life had a great time performing, being a part of this special event, and keeping the dance floor packed!
Back2Life band leader, Kurt Manderbach stated, “This was quite a night… there were many more people there than I expected, and we had a really great time.” He also admitted that performing at the Best of Delaware Party was “the highlight of July” for Back2Life. “Performing at such a big event, kind of put the spotlight on us even more.”
Best of the Main Line Party
This years Best of Main Line Party took place at Drexelbrook, as it has before in the past. This special event celebrated all of the people and businesses who received the “Best of the Main Line” Award. In addition to all the great food and drinks, entertainment was provided by the Back2Life Trio in the VIP Room, and Jellyroll in the Main Hall. Once everyone had made their rounds to all of the vendors, the dance floor became packed, and everyone ended up dancing the night away with Jellyroll.
