A Recap of “The Wedding Event”

Uncategorized

BVTLive! hosted The Wedding Event at The Westin Philadelphia on Sunday, February 22, 2015. The event was a great success with live music from three of the area’s top dance bands, advice from wedding experts, and delicious dinner and drinks. BVTLive! would like to thank everyone who came out to The Westin Philadelphia to make this event a true success!

The Wedding Event

Entertainment

As registration took place, guests enjoyed hearing live piano courtesy of Bill Handy and complimentary champagne before doors opened. Starting off the event, Big Ric Rising took the stage. During their set, everyone enjoyed delicious food and drink selections complimentary of The Westin Philadelphia. Following Big Ric Rising, our first set of panelists took the stage—the wedding planners.

Wedding Planners Panel

Our first panel, facilitated by Tim Sudall of Allure Films, was made up of six of the Philadelphia area’s top wedding planners. Guests were able to hear advice first-hand from The Wedding Planner, LLC, I DO Wedding Consulting, Truly You Events, Styled Creative, Kaleidoscope Weddings, and All About Events. Each planner emphasized the importance of having a truly professional wedding planner, even if everything is booked and confirmed for the big day. Ensuring that a wedding planner will be present allows everyone in the bridal party to enjoy the day instead of worrying about all of the small details coming together.

Expert Panel

Variety

Following the informative wedding planner panel, Back2Life took the stage. Guests strolled through the ballroom visiting professionals including Philip Gabriel Photography, who took action shots, and Allure Films, who filmed the event start to finish. Carl Alan Floral Designs LTD. set up an array of centerpieces for the tables that caught the eye, while BMP Entertainment decorated the ballroom and registration area with amazing lighting and furniture to showcase the potential décor of the space. TapSnap Phototainment was also present for all of the guests to take pictures and decorate them with clip-art of their choice then e-mail, print, or post to social media!

Wedding Expert Panel

Following Back2Life’s performance, our second panel took the stage to answer some more general questions about weddings. The panel featured wedding professionals from The Westin Philadelphia, Philip Gabriel Photography, Carl Alan Floral Design, BVTLive!, and Big Ric Rising. Each panelist emphasized their willingness to help their clients get exactly what they want out of their special day. Big Ric shared that bands are willing to learn two or three songs that are not on their song list to accommodate the clients’ wishes. Carl Alan Floral Design shared a story of a bride who requested centerpieces with live fish swimming in the vases. A unique request, Carl Alan Floral Design made it work and researched how to create a safe centerpiece for the fish. Each of the panelists wants to make their client’s event as special and memorable as possible. Their willingness to make this happen was emphasized through stories like those of Carl Alan Floral Design. Reaching the end of our event, our final band, Jellyroll, took to the stage and desserts came out!

Final Chords

Jellyroll made their appearance on stage while guests took to the dance floor enjoying the music. Platters came out with a variety of desserts for all to enjoy, compliments of The Westin Philadelphia. Everyone helped themselves to coffee and tea and enjoyed the live entertainment. As the event came to a close, people spoke with the bands and other professionals about booking their services for a wedding or special event. Guests and professionals left on a high note, pleased with The Wedding Event at The Westin Philadelphia.
